Introducing my new series of ANGELS

Those of you who have been following my work for a while may have noted that I very seldom paint angels. There have been many holiday seasons when I have painted no angels at all. Well, none that I was totally pleased with.
I have very strong feelings about angels: They are ethereal, spiritual beings, composed of light and love and holiness, and I feel an image of an angel should capture those qualities. Well, after 16 years of egg painting, I have arrived at a technique for painting angels which I feel does justice to their intangible qualities. The angel designs below are very subtle. A photo definitely does not do them justice, though the photos are as accurate as I can make them. The designs and colors are soft and subtle. But I assure you, the paintings are radiant, filled with "light", and rendered softly but very effectively. The background is a very soft sky blue with a sheer overlay of metallic gold paint which reflects a warm glow. I believe these paintings successfully capture my feelings about angels.
